A graduate of Brigham Young University and the University of Utah School of Law, he served as a U.S. Army officer in Germany before founding Thorpe, North & Western LLP, one of the nation's leading patent law firms. With over 1,000 patents authored and 35 personal inventions, North's life bridges science, creativity, and service.
Beyond his professional achievements, he has spent decades cultivating music and community. A former member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Poway Symphony Orchestra, he was recognized as Man of the Year in both Sandy, Utah, and Escondido, California, for his civic leadership.
