WASHINGTON, Oct. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- What began with a young girl imagining a different kind of breast cancer gathering has grown into a joyful, multigenerational health and wellness experience. On Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 12:30–3:30 p.m., Tigerlily Foundation will host Pajama Glam Party 2026, bringing approximately 150 girls of all ages, caregivers, families, advocates and community members together for an afternoon of confidence, connection, education and fun.

More than a party, Pajama Glam is a family-centered health literacy experience rooted in Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Tigerlily Foundation's 20-year mission to transform awareness into action, equipping the next generation with the knowledge, confidence and voice to advocate for their health at every stage of life.
The idea was inspired by Noelle Karmo-Walsh, daughter of Tigerlily Foundation Founder, President and CEO Maimah Karmo, who was diagnosed with breast cancer at 32. Growing up attending breast cancer events alongside her mother, Noelle saw an opportunity to create something that spoke directly to children and families.
"When you're diagnosed with cancer as a parent, you're not only thinking about what the diagnosis means for you. You're thinking about your child—what they understand, what they may be afraid to ask, and how to protect their childhood while still being honest about what your family is facing," said Maimah Karmo, President and CEO of Tigerlily Foundation. "Pajama Glam was born from recognizing that our children need space in this journey too. But it has grown into something even bigger: a generational health experience where girls and families can learn, talk, laugh, heal and build the confidence to advocate for their health for the rest of their lives."
At Pajama Glam, pajamas replace formal attire and sparkle opens the door to connection, making it easier to begin conversations that can feel difficult — from knowing your body and recognizing changes, to understanding family health history, expressing emotions and speaking up in healthcare settings.
Why Health Literacy Matters Now
Nearly 9 in 10 adults struggle to understand and use health information when it includes unfamiliar or complex terms, while Black women continue to experience significantly higher breast cancer mortality than White women.
These disparities underscore why trusted health information must reach families early. Pajama Glam introduces girls and families to body awareness, family health history and self-advocacy in an age-appropriate way, building the confidence to ask questions and speak up for their care.
From Awareness to Advocacy, Across Generations
A diagnosis in the family can bring emotions, questions and fears that children don't always know how to express. Pajama Glam gives families a welcoming space to explore topics that are often hard to discuss — illness, fear, inherited risk, prevention, mental wellness and the importance of seeking care — building a foundation for generational health and empowered advocacy.
"My mom's journey taught me how important it is to know your own body and recognize when something doesn't feel right," Noelle Karmo said. "The earlier girls learn to advocate for themselves and be proactive about their health, the better equipped they are to speak up and seek care."
Where Fun Meets Empowerment
Guests are encouraged to arrive in their favorite pajamas and plenty of sparkle for an afternoon featuring interactive wellness activities, body awareness education, confidence-building experiences, family conversation moments, creative expression and special surprises.
From sparkle and pajamas to self-advocacy and health education, Pajama Glam is designed to remind every girl that her body matters, her voice matters, her feelings matter and her future matters.

Creating Opportunities for Community and Corporate Engagement
With approximately 150 attendees expected from the Greater Washington region, Pajama Glam offers organizations and community partners a direct way to engage families while advancing health literacy, health equity and generational wellness.
Custom activation and co-branding opportunities include sponsoring the Passport to a Healthy Lifestyle, supporting the ANGEL Advocacy Lounge, and engaging employee volunteer groups to participate alongside Tigerlily Foundation and attending families.
Advancing Tigerlily's Mission Across Generations
As Tigerlily Foundation celebrates 20 years of Beauty, Strength and Transformation, Pajama Glam reflects the organization's commitment to ending disparities of age, stage and color by empowering people before, during and after a health crisis.
Pajama Glam extends that mission to the next generation, introducing girls and families to health literacy, self-advocacy and community care early in life, and opening a gateway to Tigerlily's broader work in education, advocacy, leadership development, survivorship support, clinical trial awareness and community-based health equity.
For Noelle, the message is clear: by making health a family affair, we can build confident, empowered advocates who carry Tigerlily's mission of health, empowerment, hope and resilience into their homes, schools and communities.
